Head office have brought to the groups attention that members may encounter difficulty in the event of a claim should an accident occur during an observed ride or demonstration drive. The group have insurance that is intended to bridge the gap between an observers regular cover and that needed by the observer, however, it is imperitave that all observers advises their insurance company's of the facts before undertaking any observed runs or demo drives.
To assist in this the IAM have produced a sample letter and it is advised that any member engaged as observers edits this letter and remits to their insurer. Members who insure through the IAM's appopinted agent should already have the necessary cover but it is best to double check.
